- Прочность и упругость кинжалов проверяют в соответствии с рисунком 2. При длине клинка кинжала 300 мм его боевой конец (острие) отгибают на 21 мм. С каждым увеличением длины клинка на 25 мм значение отгиба увеличивают на 2 мм.
После проведения испытания на клинке не должно быть остаточных деформаций, превышающих 1 мм.

- Прочность присадки клинка кинжала к эфесу (рукояти) проверяют нанесением не менее пяти колющих ударов силой 20—50 Дж в сухую сосновую доску толщиной 25—30 мм.
После проведения испытания люфт в месте соединения клинка и эфеса не допускается.
- Прочность присадки клинка сабель и шашек к эфесу (рукояти) проверяют нанесением пяти рубяще-режущих ударов (соотносимых с ударами, рассчитанными на поражение человека, силой 20—50 Дж) поперек сухого соснового бревна диаметром 120—200 мм.
После проведения испытания люфт в месте соединения клинка и эфеса не допускается.
- Для определения способов крепления основных элементов конструкции оружия, оценки их надежности, изучения и фиксирования скрытых особенностей конструкции оружия без его разборки или разрушения допускается применять переносные и стационарные рентгеновские установки.
- Возможность неоднократного поражения цели оружием без его разрушения (4.3, 6.1), удобство при удержании в руке при применении (4.2), плотность фиксации оружия в ножнах и легкость его извлечения (6.5) проверяют нанесением различных по силе и направлению ударов (до 50 раз) по доске в соответствии с 7.5.2, 7.5.3. После каждого пятого удара оружие помещают в ножны и встряхивают рукоятью вниз.
